F A Q
So, you have decided to build your own StabilizerFLEX… great!
But before you start, let us tell you a bit more about how we put it together.

When we set out to buy the parts for our home-built StabilizerFLEX, we emphasized our search in finding materials that would be lighter,
fit together seamlessly and make the overall look more like a professionally built design. Cost was not in our minds since we knew that
the materials at hand will not add up to anywhere close to a $800-$6000 commercially sold stabilizer system.

Depending on where you purchase the materials needed, price per items may vary.

Assuming you need to buy all the materials listed below, building this design will cost you between $45-$70. The multi-angle 3-way
pan/tilt head itself cost us a little over $30 at a specialty store. Although we could have purchased a cheaper model, spending a few
extra dollars made the difference between a plastic, less flexible, non quick release model and the one we picked for our
StabilizerFLEX,
which was purchased based on recommendations and good reviews.

Why is this important when the rest of the StabilizerFLEX its plastic? Because the pvc tubes are heavy duty yet flexible plastic that will not break if
you accidentally drop it. Coincidentally, a hard plastic tripod head may break or easily get damage if it’s hit hard.

Here is the breakdown of everything you will need to start building your own StabilizerFLEX.
